Employment Opportunities

Besides the incredible fishing and unique places that we operate, what makes Murphy's special and sold out year after year with repeat guests, is the dedication its crew provides to guests in exceeding their expectations with the warmest and friendliest hospitality available.

Guides - Live to Fish & Fish to Live

The highest standards in equipment and professional experience is what our guests encounter with our guide team. Members are seasoned veteran professional guides, not summer time students looking to subsidize school towards another kind of career. Many of our team members are year round guides on both the ocean and fresh water fisheries on Vancouver Island's West Coast. If a permanent professional career in guiding is on your agenda and you live a positive and healthy lifestyle, then please consider contacting us. Although positions rarely come up, having your application on hand with us could mean the angling career of a lifetime.

Lodge Positions

We operate at three locations which offer longer term and seasonal opportunities

  • Head Chef
  • 2nd Cook (Kitchen Prep/Baking/Cooking) *now recruiting
  • Dock Attendant and Fish Forensics (catch monitoring) *now recruiting
  • Fish Processing

  • Housekeeping /Host/Hostess & Serving

Those applying for lodge positions will engage in an employment contract from third week of June through September Labour Day long weekend for continuous employment. Longer postings (6 more additional weeks) may also be available.  We support and mentor individuals who are interested in sequential years of seasonal employment while attending school or those who work in other seasonal occupations who are seeking summer positions.

Positions offer competitive wages, season ending bonuses, gratuities, live in room and board and working in a spectacular setting
