Huge Rain Fall - River Flooding homes and roads
More Rain and HUGE River!
December 10, 2014
The Storm has doubled up today and so is the Rivers with the melting snow in the mountains. The river level charts below indicate the height and condition. It is in flood stage right now and has doubled its normal flow and is mud brown in the lower sections and dangerous to be on or near the river today, lots of big debris moving swiftly downstream. Head down to the Somass bridge if you want to witness the event. highway closures and homes flooding along river.
This morning I had to row down the road to get to the lodge!
The River will be out for days and likely through the weekend, I wouldn't be planning a trip to the Stamp this weekend!
The upper will clear up quicker with the area above the Ash River being the first. The lower river will take more time to clear up. The Sproat however is a short system that clears up fast so that may also be a consideration for the weekend. Stay tuned!
The charts below have likely doubled since yesterday. Unable to update today due to flooding at the lodge property! Had to row down the road to get to work today.
