Stamp River Fall Steelhead Fishing Report

Mid October Report
Let the rains begin!

Fall 2017 Steelhead Buck by Alex Scott
Regulation Information Link
With the majority of the Chinook and Coho runs now in the river, the spawning season begins.
With the fall rains, winds and beautiful fall leaves comes the Fall Steelhead "egg munch."
These beautiful fish feed on free moving salmon spawn (eggs) in the river. While encounters with these legends are low compared to salmon fishing, the experience is incredible.

This buck (male) Steelhead was landed and released this week by Alex Scott, photo credit to Jessica Van Ireland.  What a fish! (one of two fish that day). Guide Shaun Evans

"Sminter" Steelhead

These Steelhead forage like trout before the middle of October and then completely switch to eating eggs when the Chinook salmon start to spawn. Day Charters, or packages with Breakfast and boxed lunches are available....learn more. Trip Details »
