What to Pack

For your Fall Salmon or Steelhead Fishing Adventure

The weather in Port Alberni largely resembles the rest of southern British Columbia.  Plan on mid day sun, foggy mornings and likely rain as the fall progresses into October.  So be prepared for it all.

  • Life Jackets
  • Gear Rods & Reels (Please see fly fishing equipment section). Some fly fishing equipment can be provided.
  • Terminal Tackle & Bait
  • Bedding
  • Towels
  • Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap
  • Soft drinks/mix/water
  • Meals/Snacks
  • ice
  • WIFI (your own device)
   Things to bring:
  • Fishing license with Steelhead Stamp
    (see License Information)
  • Personal toiletries, warm clothing (pants, sweater, jacket, rain jacket, etc to wear in layers)
  • Waders & Wading Boots (fishing is mostly from shore or gravel bars)
  • Hat & Sunglasses
  • BYOB…liquor store in town

Guided Day Trips
