Stamp River Fall Steelhead Fishing Report
Mid October ReportBeautiful Fall with Great Fishing Underway
With the majority of the Chinook and Coho runs now in the river, the Salmon spawning season begins. With the fall rains, winds and beautiful fall leaves comes the Fall Steelhead "egg munch." These beautiful fish feed on free moving salmon spawn (eggs) in the river. While encounters with these legends are low compared to salmon fishing, the experience is incredible. Our operations release all Steelhead, hatchery or wild. |
There are also still as of the time of writing some bright Coho in the system as well. Coho can be retained as they are from local hatchery returns. Be sure to have a Salmon Stamp on your license to retain Coho.
